The voyage Begins
1st day at sea
Port Vila Efate to Port Havanna Efate

A trade show was under way on the beach and wharf front as we left Port Vila. It was a public holiday celebration of assumption day, don't know anything about it and when I asked Susan she thought for a minuet and responded" It is for the churches" I thought that if it was day for the churches I probobly knew enough!

the weather was overcast and humid not at all as I had expected it to be we had seen little blue sky since arriving but at least we had escaped the Melbourne days that had been about 14 degrees.

Gerry and Stephen winding out the mansail as we head for Port Havanna.

we set sail at around 1pm about an hour later than we had intended but of course we had to use up the last drinks on our drink card... 3 beers to share, believe me it was almost a chore for all of us as we had been parting hard since arriving . This voyage took us around the Island of Efate about 5 hours sailing to the Port Havanna. It was Havanna for me to arrive as this was my first experience of sea sickness, fortunately the moment we hit the protected port and the movement of the boat receded I recovered and was able to join our first Island exploration.
